If you don’t love bacon, you either have no soul or are a vegetarian (and even then you probably still love it but just aren’t allowed to eat it). It is probably the only reason I could never be a full blown vegetarian. I want to make something clear though, if you have a health condition where you cannot eat foods with high sodium content I advise you to not read this article. It will only make you upset and craving for bacon. However if you are active, drink plenty of water and someone who can eat bacon I advise you to continue reading 🙂 . Here you will find that you can implement small amounts of bacon into your recipes to increase our protein intake and beat other unhealthy cravings.  I absolutely love bacon and found ways to include it in a healthy lifestyle.

In the past year I changed up my diet to reflect a healthier lifestyle, but couldn’t give up bacon. How could I when my favorite meal of the day is breakfast? What is breakfast if there is no bacon? Since most of my diet is pretty low in carbohydrates and high in protein, I figured I can have my bacon and eat it too. I tried to include small portions of this delicious protein in most of my healthy recipes and it has given them the kick the needed while helping me shed some pounds and kick carbohydrate cravings.

Here is my list of easy, healthy recipes that are low in carbohydrates and include a little splash of bacon.

You have to be careful and drink plenty of water before, during and after meals due to the high content of sodium.

  4. I like the concept of your blog — documenting the process of you dabbling in new things; self-experiments, so to speak. But I’m confused by your blog entries. I scrolled back and looked at the titles for half a dozen of the posts and none of them are about you trying new things. Magic crystals, restaurants to try in Missouri, recipes… where are the posts about you trying new things? It’s such a cool concept.
