I am writing about self-love today because this is truly a new concept to me. I never started to practice self-love  and believe it until about a year ago. I want to share those same strategies that helped me, with all of you so you can shine your brightest and live the fullest life possible.

Lets get one thing straight. You are amazing. You are one of a kind. You are special. You are loved. But do you love yourself? If you do not love yourself, what is the point? You are really all you have in this world when everything is stripped away. Do yourself a favor and start loving yourself!

Ready to love yourself?

Sometimes, it is not as simple as you think. Sometimes you have to take baby steps to get there.

  1. Self Esteem

Start each day by telling yourself something positive. This can be anything that makes you smile and feel good about yourself. Reciting self affirmations in the mirror might help. Affirmations are when you say out loud 'you are loved, you are beautiful, you are strong, etc'. Boosting your self esteem with positive views of yourself, will boost your self-love over time.

  2. Intuitive Eating

When you open the refrigerator, go for the food that your intuition is leaning towards. This can either be food that nourishes your body and makes it thrive. This can also be whatever you want that maybe doesn't make your body thrive the best but is what you want. Maybe you want to eat the whipped cream out of the can. Listen to what your body wants and eat what it is telling you.

  3. Forgive Yourself

We all make mistakes, weather it is spending too much money or drinking too much and feeling the horrible effects the next day. Whatever mistake you did that makes you angry with yourself, let it go. Let it all go and forgive yourself. It is hard to live with someone you are always angry with, especially when that someone is yourself.

  4. Set a Purpose

Start each day with making a small checklist of what you want to accomplish that day. This can be one thing a day if you are in a time crunch. When you accomplish what it is you set out to do, check it off and you will feel quite good about yourself.

  5. Treat Yourself

Whether you accomplished a set goal or not, treat yourself and cheers to being alive!
